Suicide Bombers Attack IDPs Camp In Borno State

Many are feared dead as suicide bombers suspected to be Boko Haram members attacked the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camp in Dalori, Borno state today.
Dalori camp is located on the road from Maiduguri to Konduga, Bama, and the border between Nigeria and Cameroon, 15 kilometres south-east of Maiduguri.

The camp has been targeted many times by suspected Boko Haram terrorist group. Worst of these attacks occurred on January 30, 2016, when at least 86 people were killed and at least 62 injured.

Tiger With Tooth Problem Leaves The Forest To Visit Humans [Photos]

A desperate tiger tried to seek out human help with a severe tooth and gum problem. The Amur tiger sought out a house in the remote village of Solontsovy, north of Vladivostok in the Russian far-east, and lay down quietly on the porch.

These big cats usually shun all human contact, but the emaciated female tiger was clearly exhausted and in need of urgent dental assistance.

Galina Tsimano, who lives next door, explained how her neighbour had been surprised to find the cat on his doorstep in the early morning.

She said: ‘Alexey Khaideyev came across a tiger on his porch. He and his wife and grandmother live on the outskirts of the village, near the river and forest.

‘He wanted to go out to the yard in the morning, but his door was pressed by “someone” from outside.’

As Alexey pushed the door open, he heard a tiger growling – at which point he retreated back inside and called the emergency services.

Tiger experts are now sure that she was seeking human help for her tooth pain and hunger.

An emergency team came to Alexey’s home, sedated the tiger and then moved her to a rehabilitation centre in Alekseevka.

When they arrived, specialists revealed that she was around 10 years old, and was suffering from an acute problem in her jaw. ‘The tiger behaved absolutely peacefully, as if she was waiting for help,’
Sergey Aramilev, director of the Amur Tiger Centre, told The Siberian Times.

Fortunately their initial fears that she had been wounded by poachers proved unfounded.

NDLEA Seizes ‘Most Dangerous’ Indian Hemp Specie

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed the seizure of 25.6 kilograms of an illicit substance believed to be Cannabis Skunk in Yola, Adamawa.

The State Commander of the Agency, Yakubu Kibo, who confirmed the development to journalists in Yola, said that four suspects were arrested in connection to the alleged offence.

He explained the “big seizure and arrest was successfully carried out on January 19.”

Mr. Kibo said the illicit substance was compressed in 24 pallets and was seized by the agency’s Special Operative Officers along Yola-Numan Highway, in a luxury bus coming from Lagos to Yola.


“On Friday, Jan. 19, the Command arrested four suspects and made seizure of 708.2 kilograms of assorted illicit substances which included 25.6 kg of Cannabis Skunk compressed in 24 pallets.

“The Cannabis Skunk is the most dangerous species of Indian hemp plant, mostly found in some foreign countries.

“The specie ‘is much potent’ than the popular and conventional Indian hemp found in Nigeria. It is four times stronger with devastating mental consequences for users,’’ Mr. Kibo said.

He expressed concern over the increasing use of commercial vehicles in trafficking drugs, pointing out that since the beginning of the year, 10 commercial vehicles have been impounded in connection to drugs offenses by the command.

“Another disturbing trend is the increasing number of women in drug trafficking into the state as presently two women are in our custody in connection with drug trafficking,” he explained.

FFK's ‘Heart-Related’ Ailment Stalls Trial

The courtroom at the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court broke into a suppressed laughter on Wednesday when Norris Quakers, the lawyer to former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, told the judge that his client’s complaint of a heart-related ailment should be taken seriously due to recent cases of heart-related deaths.

“It is not a laughing matter,” Mr. Quakers, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said, as his colleagues and their clients struggled to hush their laugh.

“They said he was complaining of a heart-related pain. We have seen recent cases of heart-related deaths. On Friday, a lawyer collapsed and died while addressing the court.”


Mr. Fani-Kayode, who was absent in court, and Nenadi Usman, a former minister of state for finance, are facing a 17-count of money laundering amounting to N4.6 billion.

Also joined as a defendant is Yusuf Danjuma, a former National Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) and Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited.

They were re-arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in May, last year, after the earlier judge, Muslim Hassan, recused himself from the trial on the grounds that he was the EFCC officer who signed a criminal charge filed against him.

The 17 counts preferred against them border on conspiracy, unlawful retention of proceeds of theft and money laundering.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who was the Director of Publicity of former President Jonathan’s re-election campaign organisation, was accused by the EFCC of receiving funds they ought to have reasonably known were proceeds of crime.

Addressing the court on Wednesday, Mr. Quakers, said it was unusual for Mr. Fani-Kayode to fail to attend his trial.

“The second defendant is unusually absent in court today as a result of a health challenge which information was relayed to me by the wife,” he said.

“In that regard, I have requested for a medical report and hoping that same will get to me before the close of work because the second defendant lives and carries out his business outside the jurisdiction of this court, in Abuja.

“My humble application is for us to come back tomorrow so I can furnish the court with the medical report.”

Mr. Quakers then made an application that the trial, which had been initially billed to hold on Wednesday and Thursday, be moved further so they could have “three clear dates for continuation of trial.”

Rotimi Oyedepo, counsel to the EFCC, did not oppose the application.

But he reminded the court of the provisions of Section 396(d) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act which stipulates that both the prosecution and defence are entitled to not more than five adjournments each during a trial.

“They have taken two now,” Mr. Oyedepo added.

Mr. Quakers, however, argued that he had used only one adjournment.

Rilwan Aikawa, the judge, adjourned till February 28th, March 1st, and 2nd for the continuation of trial.

A teenager who attended a Swedish nightclub has spoken about the horrific injuries she suffered after being attacked when she reacted to being sexually assaulted. Sophie Johansson said that she felt the man’s hands on her backside and between her legs while she was dancing at the club in Malmo.

She hit him away, but then he launched at her, punching her in the face with a closed fist and hitting her over the head with a glass bottle.

She shared pictures of her injuries following the attack at the Babel night club on Saturday evening. Poor Sophie described the incident began with him tugging on her handbag.


She told Aftonbladet: ‘I turned around and then I felt his hand on my bottom and between my legs.’

After the punch she and a friend tried to leave the club but the man, who was in his mid-20s, smashed the bottle on the left side of her head.

She added: ‘I thought it was liquid from the bottle [on my face], but then my friend said there was blood pouring down. I was in shock.’ Sophie needed stitches to several cuts on her head and police carried out an investigation into ABH, but it was later dropped because of a lack of evidence.

Police spokesman Nils Norling said: ‘We hope that someone has seen something, seen the incident. If so, we will open up the investigation again.’

The nightclub said they have handed over all material and information available to police regarding the attack.

Babel was bombed on November 3 last year when a man on a moped sped off moments before an explosion. The club was closed at the time of the attack which blew off the doors of the club. No wonder it was bombed at first.

Obasanjo-Proposed Coalition For Nigeria Launches...

A political movement proposed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo is launching this Wednesday at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Obasanjo suggested the formation of the movement in his recent critical special statement on President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

The former president had argued in the statement that the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party were incapable of repositioning Nigeria, having lost the confidence of the electorate.

Obasanjo is not present at the ongoing launch in Abuja, but two former PDP governors, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Donald Duke, were in attendance.


Mr. Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, said the movement is not yet a political party.

If and when we come to an agreement that we must metaphose into a political party, then we will, Mr. Oyinlola said.

“We’re not a political party, at least, for now,” he said.

He acknowledged that for the movement to make electoral impact in the manner described by Mr. Obasanjo in his letter, its proponents would need to follow the Constitution and register it as a political party.

“We recognise the facts that by the dictates of the Constitution, you can only contest on the platform of a political party,” said Mr. Oyinlola, who was the national secretary of the PDP before joining the APC in 2014 after his controversial removal from his position in the then-ruling party.

Mr. Oyinlola also responded to critics who see the movement as an attempt to legitimise the legacy of Mr. Obasanjo who governed as a democratically elected president between 1999-2007.

“To say that we are legitimising OBJ’s legacy is a bit off the mark,” he said.

Mr. Oyinlola said the leaders of the movement are not necessarily eyeing political offices to benefit themselves, saying their aim is to help leave a better tomorrow for the younger generation.

The leaders of the movement said Nigerians have been through a lot in the hands of the political elite and canvassed a fresh alternative for citizens by 2019.

64 Villagers Drag President Buhari, Others To Court Over Military Invasion, Demand N65m Compensation

Sixty-four villagers in Niger State have dragged President Muhammadu Buhari and seven others to court over invasion of their villages in 2016 during which no fewer than 13 persons were killed, with several others injured and property worth millions of naira destroyed.

Those joined in the suit are Attorney-General of the Federation, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, General Officer Commanding 1 Division of Nigerian Army and  Brigade Commander 31 Artillery Brigade, Minna.

Five villages in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger  State were invaded midnight by a joint military squad and the invasion left scores dead.

The villagers in the suit filed before the High Court in Minna, Monday, sued for the enforcement of their fundamental rights, demanding N1.19 billion in damages and compensation from the Federal Government and the military over summary execution of 13 sons, illegal detention and torture of 54 others.

The bloody incident occurred on August 4, 2016.

The applicants are praying the court to direct the respondents to pay N50 million per each son killed, amounting to N650 million as compensation  for the lives taken during the bloody attack.

Similarly, 54 other victims from the 11th to the 64th applicants in the suit, are also demanding an order of the court directing the respondents to pay N5 million each as compensation for the torture, inhuman and degrading treatment they received in the hands of the military officers and another N5 million as compensation for their unlawful detention in military barracks, Minna.

The applicants also sought the declaration of the court, including condemning the killings of the sons and children of the 1st to 10th applicants without lawful order of a competent court by the officers and agents of the respondents on the 4th of August 2016 as unlawful and a violation of the applicants sons’ right to life as guaranteed.

Counsel to the applicants, Benjamin Attah, Isah Panti and Mohammed El-Surur Abubakar, had brought  the issues before the court for determination.

Hearing in the suit is to commence February 20.

Governance In Nigeria Is A Criminalised Enterprise – Kukah

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Kukah, on Tuesday said fighting corruption and fixing Nigeria required more than a God-fearing leader.

Kukah said this at the launch of a book titled “The Shadow List’’ written by Dr Todd Moss and organised by the African Centre for Media and Information Literacy in Abuja.

He said that to fight corruption and build the nation was not just about goodwill but about getting to the root of the matter and tackling it head-on.

“I have said it severally; let Nigerians keep saying they want a God-fearing leader. “Nigeria does not need a God-fearing leader, because God-fearing has become an excuse to appeal to Nigerians and win elections.


“Governance in Nigeria is a criminalized enterprise and a criminalized state cannot progress; so we must come to terms as to why it is that this country is in such low portion.

“Fixing this country requires much more than that; national cohesion, holding our country together is the most fundamental project if we are to fix this nation.

“This is what we need because I am aware of how angry and frustrated Nigerians have become, especially in an environment where people are intrinsically not concerned about corruption but about their inability to access.”

Kukah said that it was wonderful to talk about fighting corruption but that Nigerians could not fight it if they had not diagnosed the environment “as to why and how about corruption”. He said that it was sad that every time, Nigerians would be excited about a new administration but that the excitement never lasted because bad governance often set in.

The cleric said that nobody would have imagined that three to four years down the line, Nigerians would be feeling the way they were feeling now.

Lottery Winner Dies Weeks After Winning $1m

An upstate New York man who won the Merry Millionaire scratch off lottery for $1million, earlier this month, has died suddenly.

Donald Savastano was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died suddenly on Friday.

The Queens, New York, native had claimed his ticket on January 4 after buying the $10 scratch off on a whim.

Savastano claimed the lump sum payment of $661,800.


'Being a self-employed carpenter, I didn't really have a plan for retirement,' the 51-year-old self-employed carpenter explained to WBNG-TV at the time.

'The money will help with that. I don't have any other extravagant plans. I'll buy a new truck, pay off some debt and invest for the future.'

Savastano grew up on Long Island and learned the carpenter trade from his dad, according to an obituary published on Sunday by Lester R. Grummons FUneral Home in Oneonta.

The man had been living in Sidney, New York, for the past 10 years with girlfriend, Julie Wheeler, and her two sons.

He is survived by a mother, two sisters and four brothers.

The obituary included a special thanks to Bassett Hospital and Tri-Town ER for taking care of the man in his last days. It also mentioned that he had been on jospice care for a few days, before passing.

World Oldest Man Dies At 113

The world's oldest man has died just over a month after celebrating his 113th birthday.

Francisco Nunez Olivera, who was 10 years old when World War One broke out, died on Monday in the village of Bienvenida in southwestern Spain where he had lived throughout his life.

On Tuesday afternoon, he was set to be buried in Bienvenida.

Born on December 13, 1904, relatives credited his long life to a diet based on vegetables he grew on his own land and a daily glass of red wine.


Every morning for breakfast, he would have sponge cake made with olive oil and a glass of milk, they said.

Spain has one of the highest life expectancies in the world, which doctors often attribute to the country's Mediterranean diet.

Cameroonian Soldiers ‘Invade’ Nigerian Community

About 100 Cameroonian soldiers have allegedly crossed international borders, invading Danare community in Boki Local Government of Cross River State, The Nation learnt last night.

It was gathered that the soldiers claimed they were after Cameroonian militants, who took refuge in the community.

Over 3,000 refugees from Cameroon, who fled following unrest, are in the border community.

A group of Danare indigenes, led by a former councillor in Boki Council, Mr. Dauglas Ogar, told reporters in Calabar yesterday that the soldiers stormed their village about 2am on Monday, shooting
sporadically and forcing people to scamper for safety.


He said: “Our people did not sleep yesterday (Monday) because gendarmes from Cameroun invaded our community, claiming to look for Ambazonia militants. The militants, who have since taken refuge in the surrounding forests, also shot into the air. The community was in chaos and fear.

“It is important to recall the sad invasion of Danare community by Cameroonian soldiers on January 25, during which more than 80 well-armed soldiers crossed the international boundary at Danare-Daddi/Danare-Bodam and abducted five people.

“When leaving, they said their mission was to warn residents that they would return to carry out a military raid, which, according to them, is intended to rid Danare communities of Ambazonia refugees.

“The soldiers threatened to return to Danare to attack Southern Cameroonians taking refuge in the community, following crisis in Ambazonia, which resulted in influx of refugees from neighbouring Southern Cameroon villages to Danare and other Nigerian communities.

“This is a calculated offensive from Cameroonian military on Nigeria. They have shown defiance to supremacy of Nigerian territorial sovereignty and defied the consequences of crossing international boundary to carry out intimidation and harassment of people.

“The present situation shows how weak the Cameroon government sees Nigeria and its security consciousness. They have weighed the vulnerability of defenceless residents of Danare and concluded that they are capable of attacking the residents.”

Mark Salling, 'Glee' Actor, Dead At 35

Actor Mark Salling, best known for his role as Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Fox's musical comedy-drama "Glee," has died.

"I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning," attorney Michael Proctor said in a statement yesterday.

"Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment."

Los Angeles Police said they were called to investigate a report of a death in a wooded area near Tujunga at 8:50 am local time on Tuesday morning but could not confirm any further information.


Salling was indicted in May 2016 on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor and was scheduled for sentencing March 7.

As part of a plea agreement, Salling was expected to be sentenced to four years to seven years in federal prison, followed by a 20-year period of supervised release and registration as a sex offender.

Weah Vows To Change Liberia's Citizenship Laws

Liberia's President George Weah has called for the removal of a "racist" clause in the constitution which restricts citizenship to black people.

The clause was "unnecessary, racist and inappropriate", the ex-football star said in his first State of the Nation address since being elected president.

He also pledged to scrap the law that prohibits foreigners owning land.

Liberia was founded by freed US slaves in 1847 as "a refuge and a haven for freed men of colour".


Its constitution defines black people in the language of the time, as "persons who are Negroes or of Negro descent".

Other communities, like the estimated 4,000 Lebanese people who have lived in Liberia for generations, are barred from citizenship and, by extension, land ownership, this he says must change.

Court Strikes Out Jonathan’s Wife’s N2b Suit

A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a N2billion rights enforcement suit filed by former First Lady Patience Jonathan against the Economic and Financial Crimes (EFCC).

Mrs Jonathan alleged that the freezing of accounts belonging to her and some of her relations, following interim forfeiture orders got by the EFCC, and the alleged raiding and searching of her properties, violated her fundamental rights.

She sought, among others, a restraining order against the EFCC and N2billion damages should the court find that her rights were violated.

In a judgment yesterday, Justice John Tsoho held that although the case was not an abuse of court process, as argued by the EFCC, Mrs. Jonathan was not entitled to all the reliefs she sought because she failed to prove her case.


Justice Tsoho resolved two of the three issues identified for resolution against her. The first issue was whether the suit was not an abuse of court process, with the judge holding that it was not.

On the second issue, which relates to whether the various acts of the respondent (EFCC) against the applicant referred to in the affidavit in support of the application violated any fundamental rights of the applicant, the court said the acts alleged did not violate her rights

On the third issue, which was whether the applicant was entitled to the reliefs sought in the application, Justice Tsoho said Mrs. Jonathan was not entitled to any of the reliefs sought because she failed to prove her case.

Justice Tsoho faulted Mrs. Jonathan’s claim that the alleged indiscriminate freezing of her accounts and those of her relations, on allegation of money laundering without any invitation and interrogation amounted to a violation of her fundamental right to own property and fair hearing.

The judge noted that although the applicant fervently denied her involvement in criminal activities, it was her words against that of the respondent. He added that, on that score, it could be said that the steps taken by the respondent are based on reasonable suspicion of the applicant having committed a criminal offence.

Justice Tsoho relied on the decision of the Court of Appeal in the case of Dangaba vs. Federal Republic of Nigeria 2012 LPELR 19172, particularly pages 23 to 24, to hold that the ex-parte order obtained by the EFCC to attach her assets, which are under investigation, did not violate her rights to fair hearing and to own property.

The judge added that the powers of the court under sections 28 and 29 of the EFCC Act to grant such ex-parte orders, “convers special jurisdiction and is a statutory power which is superior to the rules of court, and the order granted under such power operates until the determination of the civil rights and obligations of the parties with regards to the properties under consideration.

“I am therefore guided by Dangaba case (supra) to hold that the applicant’s rights to own properties and fair hearing have not been violated by the acts of the respondent.”

The judge said she also failed to establish her claim that the EFCC invaded, raided and unlawfully conducted searches on her properties having not provided evidence to counter EFCC’s denial of being involved in the activities alleged.

On her allegation of the violation of her fundamental right against discrimination her political views expressed during the 2015   general elections there is no verifiable evidence before this court to prove that point, and it stands defeated.

The judge said in the absence of any verifiable evidence before the court to prove the point that she was being victimised and discriminated against because of her political view, the point stood defeated.

The judge said: “Having held that the applicant’s case is not made out, I further hold that the applicant is not entitled to any of the reliefs sought in this application. The applicant’s suit is accordingly struck out.”

Lagos Assembly Passes N1.046tr Budget For 2018

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the state 2018 appropriation bill of N1,046 trillion into law.

The passage followed the adoption of the report and recommendations of the House Ad hoc Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, headed by Gbolahan Yishawu.

The House approved N347. 039 billion as total recurrent expenditure from the consolidated revenue fund.

It also approved N699. 082 billion as the total capital expenditure from the development revenue fund for the year ending December 31, 2018.

Benue Govt Closes 2,219 Substandard Schools

The Benue State Government says it has closed down 2,2i9 secondary schools over poor standards.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dannis Ityavyar, a professor, disclosed this on Tuesday in Makurdi, the state capital while fielding questions from members of the House of Assembly, who sought explanations over the dwindling standards of education.

Mr. Ityavyar also disclosed that 19 tertiary institutions were closed down for the same reason.

He said that the state government was working toward improving the quality of education, declaring that mushroom schools would not be allowed to operate.

Swedish Coach, Thomas Dennerby, has officially been unveiled as the new Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior women’s team, the Super Falcons. Dennerby, a former Coach of the Women’s National Team of Sweden, won 34 caps for Swedish junior teams between 1975 and 1981.

He coached the Swedish Women’s Senior Team between 2005 and 2012, during which the team played at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and the 2007 and 2011 FIFA World Cup finals, winning bronze at the latter tournament.

The Bayelsa Commissioner for Special Projects, Fred Obua, today slumped and was rushed out of the venue of the ongoing inter-ministerial briefing to mark six years of Governor Seriake Dickson in office.

The governor was sworn into office for the second term on Feb. 14, 2016.

Mr. Obua, who was due to make presentation suddenly slumped and was rushed out of the Cultural Centre, Yenagoa, venue of the event and taken to an undisclosed private clinic.

NAN reports that the Master of Ceremony (MC), Tari Oweifawari, who earlier announced that Mr. Obua would make presentation at the event, later informed the gathering that the commissioner was “indisposed.’’


“The commissioner, who was also supposed to make his presentation is having health challenges and that won’t permit him to present his score card,’’ Ms. Oweifawari said.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson told journalists that Obua could not wait due to his health challenge.

“What do you want me to say, the man was rushed out because he has health challenge; he cannot wait for the presentation.

“He was to make his presentation, but due to his health, he was rushed out,’’ he said.

Wike Writes House Of Assembly, Requests Sack Of State Electoral Commission Ahead Of Local Govt Poll

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has requested the immediate sack and replacement of some key officials of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RISIEC) to prepare the body for a smooth local government elections.

Mr. Wike made the request on Tuesday in Port Harcourt in a letter to the Rivers House of Assembly.

The letter, read by the Speaker, Ikuinyi Ibani, asked for the sack and outright replacement of the affected officials was informed by the partisan attitude observed in them.

The letter said that security reports had shown high level of distrust among the affected officials, hence the need to inject new brains that would uphold neutrality which the commission represented.


The letter read in part: “I hereby request the removal of the following members by the House, this move is in the public interest and in accordance to section 201, subsection 1 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

“They are Dr. Chimaroke Ngba, Engr. Kombo Johnson, Mr. Ugbana Martins, Dr. Robinson Olulu, Chief Kingsley Ogbudibo and Dr. Mrs. Juliet Berewari.’’

On his part, the Speaker said that during an oversight function carried out by the House Committee on Local Government in 2017, the commission was found to have performed below its constitutional capacity.

“When report shows that some high profile members of such a sensitive commission were found wanting, there is need for urgent action such as this.

“There is, therefore, the need to inject new blood into the system in the interest of democracy and to further protect the third tier of government,’’ Mr. Ibani said.

Myself, Bukola Saraki & Other Kwara Leaders Are Not Planning To Return To PDP- Gov Ahmed

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has debunked claims in certain quarters that he is planning to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he left with some other chieftains of the party prior the 2015 general elections.

In a statement on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, the governor said he, Senate President Bukola Saraki and other political leaders in Kwara have no reason to return to the PDP.

Governor Ahmed clarified that the insinuations, which emerged from his recent interview with a newspaper, did not suggest that he was planning to leave, rather, he was stating the conditions under which he and other political stakeholders in the state left the PDP.


 Alhaji Ahmed emphasized that he, Saraki and other governors left the PDP due to impunity, disregard for the rule of law and lack of inclusiveness in the party at the time following extensive consultations with stakeholders and supporters. He, therefore, declared that he, Dr. Saraki, other stakeholders and supporters are committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently have no intention to cross-carpet to the opposition PDP.

Gunmen Kill SEVEN In Nasarawa Village

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the killing of seven persons in a night on Kadarko, a village in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to Mr Kennedy Idirisu, its Public Relations Officer, the victims were killed by gunmen that invaded the village on Monday.

He described the incident as “saddening”, saying that a special team, led by a senior officer, had been deployed to the area to forestall a recurrence.

Kadarko village had come under severe attacks lately, with cattle rustlers killing 73 cows on Sunday too.
