Donald Trump's Youngest Daughter Is Dating A Man Raised In Lagos [Pictured]

Tiffany Trump is dating a new billionaire construction heir from Nigeria - a country her father referred to as a 's**thole' earlier this year.

Page Six reports that the youngest first daughter brought Michael Boulos, heir of multibillion dollar Nigerian conglomerate Boulos Enterprises, to Thanksgiving dinner at Trumps' Mar-a-Lago.

The pair were spotted in September attending a Taoray Wang show during New York Fashion Week, while Tiffany wore a baby blue dress and sat alongside her new beau.

Despite their public appearance, a source tells Page Six Tiffany is 'happy she has so far been able to keep this with Michael under the radar'.

'She introduced him to her family at Thanksgiving, and he comes across as a very intelligent young man from a great family,' the source said.

'There was no mention of the president's unfortunate comment about African nations,' they added.

The pair met on vacation in Mykonos this summer just after the 25-year-old called it quits with ex-boyfriend Ross Mechanic in the spring, whom she met while attending University of Pennsylvania.

Boulos' family is of Lebanese decent and was raised in Lagos but is now based in London, Page Six reports.

Man Caught Attempting To Sell Human Eyeball For N250,000 In Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has arrested Shuaibu Ibrahim,35, of Safiu village in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State with a human eyeball.

According to the police report, operatives attached to the Gawu Babangida Division in Gurara Local Government Area arrested Ibrahim.

It was learnt that the police operatives apprehended the suspect in the early hours of Thursday following a tip-off from a member of the public.

The eyeball was said to have been removed from a victim of a communal clash between the Igbira and Bassa people in Nasarawa State.

Northern City News gathered that one Ojo, now at large, reportedly gave the eyeball to the suspect to sell in Niger State for N250,000.

Further checks revealed that the suspect had been involved in the illegal trafficking of human parts across the northern states for over five years.

The suspect said he was the intermediary between Ojo and his customers, who were buyers of human parts.

Ibrahim said, “My duty is to deliver human parts given to me by Ojo to his clients across the northern states. We make quick money in this business but I cannot tell what the buyers are using the parts for.

“A lot of people are interested in buying human parts but I don’t know what they use them for. My duty is to deliver as and when due to our clients and collect the money.

“I don’t even ask clients what they are using the human eyeballs for, but I guess it must be something serious.”

51 Whales Die After Becoming Stranded On A Beach

Fifty-one pilot whales have died after becoming stranded on a beach on the Chatham Islands off New Zealand.

The mass stranding means more than 200 whales have died in separate incidents over the past week in the region.

New Zealand's Department of Conservation says between 80 and 90 whales were found to have become stranded in Hanson Bay on Thursday.

Several dozen managed to refloat themselves but 50 were found dead and one had to be put down.

"There was no likelihood of being able to successfully save the remaining whale. Sadly, the decision was made to euthanise. It was the most humane thing to do," said DOC's Chatham Islands Operations Manager, Dave Carlton.

"This is always an awful decision to have to make."

Atiku's US Visa: PDP Tells APC; What Is Your Own

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has applied for a visa to enable him to visit the United States, Punch learnt on Thursday.

It was learnt that the former Vice-President appeared for an interview at the US Embassy on Tuesday in Abuja.

Atiku would use the trip to make what was described as “political statement” ahead of the 2019  presidential election.

According to their source, those planning the trip with the former VP  are out to use it to address some  US congress caucuses, as well as a high ranking official in the Donald Trump administration.

The source said, “I can authoritatively tell you that Atiku Abubakar went to the US  Embassy on Tuesday for an interview and there is hope that he will get it (visa).

“When he gets it, we will use it to make a political statement. This is because those saying he can’t travel to the US will be shamed.

“Apart from that,  the trip will be used to sell his candidature and that of the PDP to the entire world. So, let us wait and see what will happen. The PDP and Atiku are ready for the 2019 race.

Reacting to the development, the Federal Government warned the US to be cautious about granting Atiku a  visa now.

It said this was necessary in order not to create the impression that the PDP candidate had been endorsed by America for the 2019 election.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, gave the government position at an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

Mohammed, who spoke in his office, said the government was aware of the move by the ex-VP to allegedly lobby the US to lift the visa ban imposed on him.

He said, “We understand and appreciate the fact that it is the prerogative of the US to grant a visa to anyone who applies.

“However, we want the US to be neutral and be wary of taking any decision that will give the impression that they are favouring or endorsing one candidate over the other.

“An impression must not be created that the US government is endorsing one particular candidate over the other.”

The minister alleged that for years, there had been a kind of congressional bi-partisan investigation into the corruption (allegations)  against certain individuals,  which had made it difficult for Atiku to secure a US visa.

Meanwhile, the PDP has alleged that the All Progressives Congress “is already jittery because of the calamity that will soon befall them”.

National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, who spoke with our correspondent on  Atiku’s application for a US visa, asked the  APC  and  FG to be ready to accept defeat in the February presidential election.

He said, “What is their own in the visa that they are calling on the authorities of another country not to grant a private citizen?

“The fact is that the APC government has failed. They are already jittery. They know that the game is up and that’s why they have been running from pillar to post.

“Tell them that their days of deceit are over. Nigerians are tired of them and they can no longer lie or take the people for a ride anymore.”

Satellites Warn African Farmers Of Pest Infestations

UK researchers have developed an early warning system to prevent the crops of African farmers from being devastated.

The Pest Risk Information Service (Prise) combines temperature data and weather forecasts with computer models.

It then sends farmers a mobile phone alert so that they can take precautions.

It is hoped that the system will boost yields and increase farm incomes by up to 20%.

Prise is being used in Kenya, Ghana and Zambia and will be rolled out soon in other parts of the world.

Prise is an upgrade of a highly successful UK Aid scheme run by the Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International development charity (CABI). It uses a network of so called "plant doctors" and clinics to advise farmers when pests or diseases destroy their crops.

Image caption Farmers and plant doctors have access to an app to help them diagnose pest infestations and suggest remedies

The "doctors" draw on a database using an an app to help them to diagnose the issue and then prescribe the right pesticide and other measures. Walter Wafula, who grows Maize in Bungoma in Kenya, told BBC News that the service had transformed his family's lives.

"Because of the increased income from my farm, my kids can now go to a better school and the life at home has improved because I can provide the basic needs for my family," he said.

Obasanjo’s Son Defends Buhari’s Administration

Olujonwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and the National President of Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO), has told Nigerians not to compare the administration of his father to the current President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

He said this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat.

He, however, said that while he could not speak for his father’s administration, he believed in the President Buhari-led administration as a young man.

He added that his continued support for the Buhari administration did not in any way amount to him disrespecting his father, saying that as an adult, he was entitled to his political views.

“Everybody’s parent wanted them to be one thing or the other, probably different from what they are today, but at certain stage in our lives, we choose our path, that does not amount to disrespecting your parents.

“When we get to certain point in our life, you are responsible for the decisions you take, with all due respect, my father is my father and will remain my father despite our political differences.

“I am an adult and as individual, I am here as someone who believes in Buhari`s government, this government is diversifying the economy from an oil based economy and has made agriculture fashionable.

“Today, people talk about farming and they no longer look at it in a degrading manner, people now look at the value chain when you talk about farming,“ he said.

The BYO president added that to him, it was all about the impact the Buhari-led government had made and how much it had impacted on the people.

360,000 Adolescents Expected To Die Of AIDS By 2030, Says UNICEF

Some 360,000 adolescents are expected to die of AIDS by 2030 if investment in HIV prevention is not ramped up, according to a UNICEF report released on Thursday.

The figures show the world is “off track’’ in its goal to end AIDS among children by 2030, UNICEF’s executive director, Henrietta Fore, said.

Projections show there will be a decline in the number of children and young people infected with HIV and dying from AIDS-related causes.

But the UN children’s fund warned progress is notably slower among adolescents – defined by the UN as those between ages 10 and 19.

For example, AIDS-related deaths are projected to decrease by 57 per cent among children below the age of 14 by 2030, compared with 35 per cent among those aged 15 to 19 years.

“Programmes to prevent HIV transmission from mothers to babies are paying off but haven’t gone far enough.

“Programmes to treat the virus and prevent it from spreading among older children are nowhere near where they should be,’’ Fore said.

The report blames slow progress in preventing HIV among young children, along with a failure to address structural and behavioural drivers of the epidemic.

Boko Haram Uses Drones, Mercenaries – Buratai

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has given an account of military losses in recent weeks to Boko Haram terrorists and at the same time made a chilling revelation that the insurgents have gone hi-tech in fighting Nigerian soldiers.

He revealed that the Boko Haram insurgents now use drones and mercenaries to attack troops’ formations in the northeast.

A statement signed by Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka, on behalf of Buratai and issued on Wednesday said the trend pose threats which require review of military operations against the insurgents.

“Since 2015; the Nigerian Army in conjunction with sister services and other security agencies have systematically degraded the capabilities and capacity of Boko Haram terrorists and many successes were achieved.

“However, in the last two to three months, we have noticed daring moves by the terrorists, increased use of drones against our defensive positions and infusion of foreign fighters in their ranks. These potent threats require us to continually review our operations”.

Buratai disclosed that 39 soldiers were killed and 43 others wounded in multiple attacks coordinated by Boko Haram insurgents on various military locations in the past few weeks.

He disclosed that insurgents attacked Kukawa, Ngoshe, Kareto, Gajiram and Metele military locations between Nov. 2 and 18, adding that they were successfully repelled by the gallant troops and several insurgents killed.

“In recent weeks, Nigerian troops deployed in the North East of Nigeria under Operation LAFIYA DOLE have come under series of attacks by large numbers of Boko Haram Terrorists.

“Specifically; the Nigerian Army troops deployed at Kukawa, Ngoshe, Kareto and Gajiram came under attack at different times within a two-week period between November 2 and 17, 2018. Each of these incidents was successfully repelled and several members of the terrorists killed.

“However, a total of 16 personnel were killed in the course of these attacks while 12 soldiers wounded in action and are receiving treatment at our military medical facilities.

“As you are all aware, Nigeria is contributing troops to the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) which has its headquarters in N’djamena, Chad. One of the Nigerian battalions; 157 Task Force Battalion, deployed under the auspices of the MNJTF was attacked at their base on the outskirts of a town called METELE on November 18, 2018.

“During the attack, the troops were forced to withdraw and several casualties were recorded. As at date 23 personnel were killed in action and 31 personnel wounded and have been evacuated to several medical hospitals within Borno State,” Buratai said.

ICPC Arrests Fake Ex-Nigeria Airways Worker Who Turned Up For Money

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested one Emmanuel Eneji for falsely claiming to be a former employee of the defunct Nigeria Airways.

In a statement made available to Premium Times through the commission’s spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, it said Mr Eneji was arrested at the Ministry of Finance, Abuja.

According to the statement, the Ministry of Finance is the venue of the Presidential Initiative on Continuous Audit (PICA) where all ex-staff of the non-operational agency have been presenting themselves for verification.

President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the payment of owed emoluments to the ex-workers of the airways and the process is ongoing.

The ICPC in the statement said the alleged impostor claimed to have worked as operations manager of the Airways in Ghana and had presented a verification slip that belonged to another.

But checks on his documents and other findings uncovered him to be an impostor, the agency said, as insiders familiar with the operations of the defunct airways told investigators that the position of operations manager in Ghana never existed.

The statement added that when further probed on the authenticity of his claim, Mr Eneji claimed that he lost his Nigeria Airways Staff Identity Card, including employment letter, letter of promotion from Grade Level 09 to 10 and his letter of disengagement as well as his academic certificates in a fire incident during the Zango Kataf uprising in 1993, at Malali, Kaduna State.

Meanwhile, the only document in his possession linking him to the non-operational airways was a photocopy of the Nigeria Airways Training School Certificate.

According to the statement, the suspect also claimed to have used a police report and an affidavit for the lost documents to scale through the verification exercise in Lagos, which enabled him to obtain a verification slip and a bio-data form from PICA.

He further claimed that one Mr Ajayi, a staff of the Nigeria Airways Union, issued him the verification number on the list of staff to be verified, that belonged to another person upon the presentation of police report and the affidavit.

“Investigation on the matter continues and the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion,” the statement added.

Don’t Buy Cell Phones From Strangers – Police Warns

Oni Waheed, the divisional crime officer, Ilaro police command, Ogun State, has advised the public to desist from buying cell phones from strangers in order not to get into trouble with the law.

Mr Waheed gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ota, Ogun State.

He said instead, people should purchase their cell phones from well-known outlets to prevent them from getting into police net.

“It is easy to trace cell phones bought from an outlet when crime is being committed by criminals than the one purchased from a stranger,” he said.

Mr Waheed noted that hoodlums sometimes robbed people of their valuables like cell phones, laptops and money and sell them to innocent people.

According to him, most of the criminals who indulge in the act usually sell the stolen goods to innocent people, on the pretext that they needed money urgently to attend to some needs.

“We have seen many victims of such problem and there is no evidence to prove their innocence.”

Three Philippine Police Officers Found Guilty Of High-Profile Murder Of Teenager

Three Philippine police officers have been found guilty of the high-profile murder of a teenager, the first such convictions since President Rodrigo Duterte's "war on drugs" began.

A court sentenced them to up to 40 years in prison each for the killing of 17-year-old Kian Delos Santos in 2017.

President Duterte launched the anti-narcotics campaign in 2016, to deal with a rampant drug problem.

Since then 5,000 dealers or users have been killed, according to police.

President Duterte has been criticised by human rights groups for what is seen as sanctioning the extrajudicial killings and promising to pardon police officers convicted for "drug war" killings.

"A shoot first, think later attitude can never be countenanced in a civilised society," said Thursday's ruling by Judge Roldolfo Azucena.

"Never has homicide or murder been a function of law enforcement. The public peace is never predicated on the cost of human life," he added.
