The burglar, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was sentenced to six months imprisonment without an option of fine. Nura urged the convict to be of good behaviour after serving his jail term.
The prosecutor, Abdullah Abubakar of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Sokoto North Division, had earlier said the convict was charged with housebreaking and theft, contrary to sections 356 and 288 of the penal code.
According to him, Sa’ad broke the door, entered and stole properties that included an iPad, two bottles of perfumes, alarm clock, a book, power bank and blackberry disc valued at N143,380.
He said the accused also stole N244,410 cash.
