Former Vice President Namadi Sambo on Wednesday visited Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, saying he was on a familiarization visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Sambo who arrived the Villa at exactly 4pm into the waiting hands of Osinbajo who ushered him into his office left at about 5pm after a closed door meeting with the Acting President.
Approached by Journalists to state his mission to the Villa, the former Vice President said he kept to an old culture of visiting his contemporary in office. “I have come to pay a visit Mr. Vice President and Mr. Acting President. It is a usual familiarization visit. As you know, former Presidents visit Mr. President and former Vice Presidents visit the Vice President. I am happy to see all of you, our good friends. I want to thank you very much for this reception”, he said. This would be the second time Sambo who was succeeded in office by Osinbajo would be visiting the Presidential Villa.
The first was on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1, last year when he joined President Muhammadu Buhari and other past and present leaders to mark the anniversary.
