Kano State was thrown into mourning last night following the death of Malama Shatu Aminu, one of the surviving spouse of late Malam Aminu Kano.

She died at the age of 89.

Shatu’s death is coming 34 years after her husband, Aminu Kano, a politician and founder of Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU) joined his ancestors in April, 1983. She was buried today according to muslim rites. See more burial photos below…
