The lawmaker, among others, also accused Makarfi of working in sync with others to deny the South-West the chance of producing the national chairman of the party at the December 9 elective convention.
In a statement he personally signed in Abuja, Kashamu warned on the dangers of making the contest for the chairmanship of the party “a free for all,” even as he called on party stakeholders to rise in defence of the interest of the PDP.
“Senator Makarfi has allowed his egocentric presidential ambition to blindfold him. He has been illegally tinkering with duly elected states’ EXCOs with the intention of substituting them with allies sympathetic to his ambition sliced with greed of selling state structures with impunity.
“He has disorganised the South-West PDP for selfish manipulations with his cohorts, chief among who is the uncultured and erratic Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose,” the statement read in part.
While questioning the ability of Makarfi to lead the party, Kashamu noted that if not checked, the current spates of “problem creations” could ignite fresh crisis in the party.
