Green, 65, has reportedly told Beeb bosses that he's not physically fit enough to schlepp bags containing his broadcasting kit.
It's led to them hiring an extra producer at £200 a time to carry the Radio 5 Live veteran's microphone, headphones and mixing desk to matches across the country, reports The Sun .
Green is also said to have recently demanded a taxi home to Wilmslow, Cheshire, after he missed a train in London.
The BBC apparently paid £500 for Green's cab while other members of staff had to use public transport.
An insider told the Sun producers were shocked by Green's "diva demands".
They said: “He is more than capable of carrying a couple of small bags containing his mic and recording devices to matches, but flat-out refuses.
“And he’s more than happy to demand cabs half way across the country. He really has no idea just how much he is costing the Beeb.”
A controversial figure, Green has had run-ins with football managers and colleagues over the years and is no stranger to landing himself in hot water over comments made on air.
