Ojewole, of Iyana Apapa area, Moniya, Ibadan, is facing a charge of an attempt to kill his wife, Dorcas Olusegun.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Opeyemi Olagunju, had told the court that on November 4 at about 12 noon, the accused attempted to kill Dorcas by cutting her left hand with a cutlass, resulting in a deep cut.
“Ojewole alleged that Dorcas stole N13,000 he kept in his room, but the complainant denied the accusation.
“The matter later led to hot arguments between the couple, which prompted Dorcas to flee to a co-tenant’s room.

“She thought the accused had gone, but as she opened her neighbour’s door, the accused attacked her and cut her hand with cutlass,’’ Olagunju said.
He said that the money was later found in the couple’s room after the assault.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 320 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State 2000.
Ojewole was, on Thursday, remanded in Agodi Prison by an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abdulateef Adebisi, said that the accused would be in prison custody until December 27 when the case would come up for mention.
Adebisi did not take the plea of the accused.
