Kwara to begin arresting loitering pupils, students

Kwara State Government has vowed that pupils and students found loitering during school hours in the state would be arrested.

The State’s Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Fatimah Bisola Ahmed in this respect reminded parents/guardians, pupils, and students that the anti-loitering unit of the State Ministry of Education mandated to arrest and detain pupils/students loitering during school hours has begun work.

Speaking to journalists in her office, she said: “Let me inform parents/guardians that any student/pupil found wandering will be arrested and sanctioned appropriately”.

She assured that parents of such children would be invited for questioning, to be followed with appropriate sanctions, adding that acts of indiscipline in public schools would be dealt with in the state.
