Daily Trust gathered that the attackers were armed with sophisticated weapons when they besieged the monarch’s house and allegedly r3ped his wife, and two of his female in-laws.
The monarch, Tyoor Oliver Chado, told journalists in Makurdi that the attackers were suspected to be herders, who also destroyed his food storage during the invasion.
Chado narrated that the gunmen were about 11 and had arrived his home about 2:00am on Thursday but that he was able to escape from them.
He further disclosed that the attackers sometimes last week invaded the area and killed domestic animals including goats, pigs and chickens while they took other items away.
“Since the incident happened, I have not seen my wife and the two other in-laws, but the Livestock Guard who have gone to the area told me they were tortured and r3ped, but not killed.
“I have reported the matter to Police and sent transport to go and convey them back to Daudu where I am now taking refuge,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson for Benue State Command, Catherine Anene, said she was yet to receive any report about the matter.
