The deceased, identified as Etsebanghanro Ighomi, was a father of two children, information on his Facebook page suggests.
It was gathered that the incident occurred close to the community’s town hall at about 11 am.
The deceased was said to be a member of the Ugbuwangue community executive until his death.
While details of the circumstances surrounding the incident were still sketchy at press time, there were feelers to the effect that the couple had been quarreling over alleged acts of infidelity on the part of the deceased.

The husband, spitting out saliva, reportedly fell on the ground immediately and died before he could be rushed to a hospital.
A source who resides in the area said the woman was already in police custody, adding that the couple had at least one child together.
When reached for comments, the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, Onome Onowakpoyeya, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the police were awaiting official complaint from the family.
