Police In Niger Arrests Teenager Who Sold His Brother To Ritual Killer To Pay Bride Price

Police in Niger State have arrested a teenager for allegedly selling his six-year-old brother to a ritual killer for N20,000. The 19-year-old suspect, Aliyu Basala Yakutchi, without mincing words, confessed to have sold his kid brother, Yamusa Ibrahim Yakutchi, to ritual killer in order to raise money to pay his wife’s bride price. The incident was said to have occurred about 10 days ago.

Aliyu, from Nagenu village in Katcha Local Government Area, sold his brother to 30-year-old Legbo, from Afuwagi village in Mokwa Local Government Area. Police disclosed that Legbo was presently on the run. Aliyu, who claimed to be the third among his mother’s six children, said that he sold his brother on credit.

Aliyu, who apparently didn’t know or understand the gravity of his action, pleaded with the police to release him unconditionally so that he could go and tend to his farm. He said: “I decided to sell my younger brother for N20,000 on credit so that I can raise money to pay for the bride price of my 14-year-old lover.

I took my younger brother, Yamusa, to Malam Legbo for money rituals because he promised to pay me N20,000 if he succeeded in using him for money rituals. I wanted to use the money to finance my marriage to Fatimah. Our father is dead, but our mother is still alive, her name is Hajiya Yakure.

“Prior to my arrest by the police, I had not been paid by Legbo. The money might not even be enough for my marriage requirements.” Asked the whereabouts of Legbo, Aliyu said: “I think he ran away with my brother when he got the information that the police were looking for him.

I blame the devil for pushing me into hatching this evil plan against my brother. I don’t even know where Legbo has taken my brother to.” While exonerating Fatimah from the crime, Aliyu noted: “She does not know about my evil plan to sell my little brother to offset her bride price.

I’m a farmer and a bachelor. I got enrolled into an Islamic school during my childhood days but my parents couldn’t afford to send me to school. I only speak our local dialect, Nupe language; I cannot speak or understand Hausa language too.”

As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Legbo and Yamusa were still unknown. The police had already paid a visit to Legbo’s village, but met a cold trail.

You Are A Deceit, Lady Says As She Calls Out Kokun

A lady on instagram, Karmani who not too long ago had a giveaway on her page has called out Olukokun Adepeju, the founder of Kokun Foundation. According to Karmani, she started a giveaway on her page and needed some sponsors. She contacted Kokun who promised to give N20k to one of her winners, but months have passed now and Kokun is yet to fulfill his promise, hence the call out.

What she wrote below...

"On the 7th of March I sent @kokunfoundation a dm asking him to be a part of my 20days giveaway and he agreed to it, I had 19 other brands also sponsoring the giveaway on different days . He agreed he was going to give one person 20k on the last day of the giveaway and when I finally picked the winner which was @modest4 , I told him and sent her account details to him as soon as she sent them. He kept posting us and still didn’t send the money. At a point he stopped replying me and I just left him , while @modest4 kept sending him dms which he still didn’t reply & then earlier today When she uploaded it on her page I saw all he said to her and he even denied there that he didn’t know about the giveaway .. S/A Outrage Over 'Naked' School Choir Performance

A "naked" choir performance by a group of South African schoolgirls has led to calls for investigation by the country's education minister.

Angie Motshekga said she was "extremely disappointed" after seeing footage of the Xhosa girls performing wearing only a small apron, known as an "inkciyo".

The basic education minister said it was an "indignity [which] goes against the values of our cultures".

But the choirmaster has defended the choice - saying he was proud.

According to South Africa's Daily Dispatch website, the unnamed teacher said: "We are proud of our Xhosa tradition. We are proud of 'inkciyo'. We are proud of Xhosa women and girls."

The Xhosa are South Africa's second-largest ethnic group.

Footage of the performance at a competition in Mthatha, in the Eastern Cape, emerged earlier this week, showing the girls dancing on stage, their breasts and buttocks exposed.

Just imagine the choirmaster’s choice of words.

New Government Agreed In Italy

A coalition government has been agreed in Italy, ending months of uncertainty in the EU's fourth-biggest economy. Prime Minister-designate Giuseppe Conte presented his list of ministers to President Sergio Mattarella for the second time in a week and the new government will be sworn in on Friday.

Ministers are drawn from both the anti-establishment Five Star (M5S) and the right-wing League.

Attempts to form a technocratic government had failed.

Mr Mattarella rejected Mr Conte's original choice for economy minister but a different candidate was agreed on Thursday. Four days of political and constitutional crisis are over. And a new populist government - led by law professor Giuseppe Conte - will now be sworn in.

Packing Photos: 30-Year Old Evicted From parents House Finally Leaves

The failure to launch millennial, who gained international notoriety when his parents took him to court last week to evict him, has finally done what many say he should have done years ago. He has started to move out.

Michael Rotondo, 30, has until noon on Friday to leave his parents' four-bedroom home in Camillus, New York, a quiet commuter town just west of Syracuse.

Now on the eve of his court ordered departure he has told DailyMail.com that he has bagged up most of the belongings he has accumulated over his eight-year, rent-free, tenure in his parents' home.

At around 6.45pm Thursday a grey Ram truck pulled into the driveway and backed up to the property's double garage doors.

While Rotondo secured boxes with packing tape his cousin Anthony Mastropool began loading them into the back of his truck.

Rotondo's father Mark moved between the house and his own car which he had driven onto the lawn to allow Mastropool access to the garage, but the men neither looked at each other nor exchanged words.

Rotondo and Mastropool trudged silently between garage and truck. They heaved bags of clothes, speakers, a lacrosse stick, pictures, books, a pair of loose boots, a shoe rack, work tools and, suprisingly, a sewing machine into the truck's flatbed.

Most notable though were all the toys - boxes loaded high, brimmed with toy trucks, LEGOs and puzzles. These all belonged to his eight-year-old son, Rotondo explained.

Earlier in the day Rotondo spoke exclusively with DailyMail.com and blamed his parents' 'refusal' to support his bid for custody of his eight-year-old son for the downward spiral in their relationship that ended with the court order for his eviction.

Man Remanded For Raping Girl He Met On Facebook

An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court yesterday remanded a businessman, Ebuka Eze, 27, in prison for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl he met on Facebook.

Eze will remain in custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The defendant was arraigned before Chief Magistrate, P. E. Nwaka on a one count charge of child defilement contrary to Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Prosecuting Inspector Christopher John told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 19 at his 25, Ayodele Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos home.

The defendant, he said, had invited the victim, who he met on Facebook, to his house, where she was raped.

The prosecutor alleged that during the visit, the defendant pushed the victim to the bed, covered her mouth with pillow and raped her. John claimed that the defendant wiped the bloodstain on his victim’s body with the bedspread

He said when the victim got home, her parents saw the bloodstain on her dress and asked how she came by it and she narrated the incident to them.

The prosecutor said the case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.

Chief Magistrate Nwaka adjourned till June 28.

Photo: EFCC Arrests Fake Pastor Over N1.33b Scam

A fake Pastor, James Ezekiel has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for defrauding a businessman of N1.33billion.

Ezekiel deceived his victim by enlisting him as one of the “financiers” of a spurious contract in the sum of N1.8 billion.

Ezekiel, who claimed to be a “Presiding Pastor of One Touch Power Ministry”, in Agudama, Epie, Bayelsa State, said he won a contract for the roofing of a cathedral belonging to the Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He reportedly put the contract sum as N1.8billion and showed a contract award letter to his victim. He also wooed his victim to collaborate with him as one of the “financiers” of the contract. He allegedly promised the victim mouth- watering interests on his ” investment”.

Ezekiel’s game unravelled when the victim demanded a repayment of his money, with interests.

EFCC’s investigations showed that Ezekiel delayed making payment to his victim by deceiving him that he had been paid the sum of N800 million as mobilisation fees for the contract but could not access the funds because ” his company’s account had been frozen by the EFCC”.

He also contrived a fake EFCC’s e-mail message notifying him of the freezing of the account. The victim sensed foul play and petitioned the EFCC.

Further investigations showed that the Salvation Ministries did not award any contract to Ezekiel and no transfer of N800 million was made into his company’s account.

Besides, the e-mail address he ascribed to the EFCC does not belong to the Commission.

The suspect allegedly initiated the scam to fraudulently obtain money from the petitioner and other unsuspecting members of the public.

Ezekiel is in the custody of the EFCC and would be charged to court soon.
