Reports say that alleged Fulani herdsmen have sacked Kabene-surubu village in Kauru local government area of Kaduna state.
After destroying the village and an Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) branch, they abducted the church ‘s senior pastor, Reverend Yusuf Magaga.
The Nation reports that the herdsmen are now demanding for N2 million as ransom for his release.
The report quoted a source and resident of the village, Mr Jacob Wakili, as saying the incident took place at about 2.00 am on Wednesday.

He said they destroyed part of the church and left some persons injured.
He added that the intervention of the local vigilantes saved the situation, but that the gunmen succeeded in whisking the clergyman away.
“My village was attacked by fulani herdsmen, but thank God the people were able to mobilise for defence, but the criminals still destroyed part of ECWA church, took away the pastor of the church and left few injured,” he said confirming the demand for ransom.
Kidnapping for ransom has become a major challenge to the government. In some cases, the victim is murdered even after payment is made.
Two weeks ago, the decomposing body of John Adeyi, a reverend father with the Roman Catholic Church was discovered in Otukpa, Ogbadibo local government area of Benue state two months after his abduction.
