Chris Ubosi, the chairman of Beat FM and Classic FM, turns 50 years old today. According to him, he woke up to find a Lexus SUV as a surprise birthday present. Showing off the automobile on social media, he wrote

Cristiano Ronaldo tops GQ top 18 best celebrity bodies of 2016

Footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has topped GQ’s best celebrity body of 2016. “We didn’t put him on the cover of our Body Issue for nothing. When scientists invent a superhuman, they’ll model it after the world’s most famous footballer.” GQ wrote.

Michael Phelps, Calvin Harris, Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Reynolds, Zac Efron, Dwayne Johnson, actor Michael B Jordan, Alexander Skarsgård, Quarterback Cam Newton, Justin Bieber, Matt Damon, and others made up the top 18.

Conflicting reports on the number of casualties in Akwa Ibom Church building collapse

There are conflicting reports as to the the number of casualties in last Saturday’s incident where the building of Reigners Bible Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, collapsed during a church programe, killing scores of worshipers.

While some of the worshipers who survived the incident say they saw as much as 300 dead bodies, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State Branch, Dr. Aniekeme Uwah, in a statement released yesterday, said only 21 persons were brought in dead to the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) while 2 others died in the hospital.

Meanwhile the police in a statement released yesterday, said only 27 people died in the incident.

The state governor, Udom Emmanuel, who was inside the Church building when it collapsed, has declared a two-day mourning period throughout the state over the incident. He has also ordered an investigation into the remote causes of the collapse of the building will be investigated.

The Bursary department of the University of Maiduguri, was gutted by fire last night. A quick intervention by the state fire service and some students helped to stop the fire from spreading. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Stampede at T.B Joshua's church leaves three worshipers dead

Three people died in a stampede at Prophet T.B Joshua’s
Synagogue Church of All Nations church in Ikotun, Lagos state on
Saturday December 10th. According to reports, the stampede happened
during the church’s healing service when many of the worshipers thronged to
meet with the Prophet. 

Three of them collapsed as they made their way
through the crowd to see the prophet. They were confirmed dead at the
Isolo General Hospital where they were rushed to.

Photos: At least 25 killed, 57 injured in bomb blast inside Cairo church, Egypt

An explosion inside Saint Mark’s Coptic Ordodox Catheral in Cairo’s Abbasiya neighbourhood on Sunday, December 10th, killed at least 25 people and injured 57. Egyptian security officials said the blast ripped through the church around 10am.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. On Friday, two roadside bombs – one in Cairo and one north of the capital – killed six policemen and wounded six others.
Egyptian security forces are fighting an Islamist insurgency led by ISIS’s branch in North Sinai, where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed. The insurgents have also launched deadly attacks Cairo and other cities.
