Benito Felipe Crisanto, 19, stole $3000 in cash from a woman’s home in
Florida and stabbed his victim after reportedly telling her ‘I have to make a
sacrifice.’
Hours later, the clearly unremorseful teenager flashed a
wide, sinister grin for the camera as he posed for a mugshot after he was arrested.
He has
been accused of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon.
Local reports have it that
Crisanto was friends with the woman’s boyfriend and had come over to
their apartment to say goodbye because he was moving to New York.
During the evening the boyfriend was playing on a computer game in the
lounge when he heard screams from the bedroom and heard his girlfriend
say: ‘Take the money.’
He told police he saw Crisanto holding a gun and managed to disarm him.
The woman told police Crisanto, who she knew as ‘Phil’, had stabbed her,
telling her: ‘I have to make a sacrifice.’ The victim was taken to
hospital where she is in a stable condition.
The assailant is being held on a $300,000 bond pending trial. It is not
clear if he had taken drugs or suffers from mental health issues.
