The lawmaker representing Omuma Constituency in the Rivers State
House of Assembly, Hon Kelechi Nwogu celebrated this year Mother’s Day
in a remarkable way. Hon. Nwogu met with women drawn from the 10 wards
of Omuma LGA, he donated food items, wrappers, and cash to the women.
The
lawmaker pledged to enroll the women in the empowerment scheme tagged
Women Support Program, a program to be conducted by Kelechi Nwogu
Foundation, a non profit organization mainly for humanitarian aid for
the poor and needy. He further stated that, some of the women would be
given cash to start small scale businesses, those of them that are still
young would embark on skill acquisition programs.
The women thanked Hon. Kelechi Nwogu for his kind gestures and continual support for Omuma women.
