Supporters of suspended senator, Ali Ndume, are currently staging a
protest in front of the National Assembly Abuja, over the 6-months
suspension placed on Ndume by the senate last week.
The senate suspended
Ndume for moving a motion for the investigation of Sahara Reporters
claims that Senate President Bukola Saraki purchased a Range Rover
bulletproof SUV without paying the necessary Customs duty and also that
Dino Melaye did not finish his first degree programme at the Ahmadu
Bello University ABU.
The senate committee on Ethics and Priviledges
investigated the claims and found out they were untrue. Ndume was
suspended for moving a motion without carrying out his own
investigations.
His supporters are calling for the senate to rescind their decision and lift the 6 months suspension.
