The plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mum has replied to the rapper after he said he would put his face on his upcoming album cover, urging him to "deal with the facts" of his mum's death.

Jan Adams operated on Donda West the day before she died at the age of 58 in November 2007.

A coroner stated that she died due to "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty."

Over the weekend, the Famous rapper shared a screen grab of a text conversation he was having where he suggested a picture of Adams would form the album cover of his eighth studio album, and said he wanted to "forgive and stop hating".

Responding to the rapper,  Adams penned a letter asking him to "cease and desist" using the picture, and also gave an insight into his mum's death.

Kanye later posted it in full, writing alongside it: "Open letter from Jan Adams This is amazing. Thank you so much for this connection brother. I can't wait to sit with you and start healing."

In the letter posted on The Blast , Adams wrote that the rapper should “cease and desist using my photo or any image of me to promote your album or any of your work.

“I don’t want to seem ungrateful… I just think that if in fact this conversion to love is genuine on your part… then it’s inappropriate to drag the negativity of the past with it.”

He went on to suggest that he should look at the alleged failings on the part of Kanye's cousin Stephan Scoggins, who had been left in charge of his mum's care at home.

"So if your journey is true... 'To forgive and stop hating' ...start by dealing with the facts," he wrote.

"Don’t put my picture out there and claim you are about love. Love deals with the truth."

“If you want to heal, first call out the people in your own camp who knew better and persisted with the charade in order to hide their own guilt.

“You are a father and a family man. Take the time to cherish those things… you won’t regret it. Everyone can get past this but you have to be intellectually honest.”

Scoggins was cleared of of any negligence during an investigation.
