Onijekachi, who resides at No. 44, Joseph Babatunde St., Ajangbadi, Lagos State, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s sister.
The chief magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Adegite, ordered the transfer of the case to the Special Offences Court, Ikeja.
Adegite, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, also ordered the remand of the accused in prison and that he should seek his bail in the Special Offences Court.
The prosecutor, Insp. Onime Idowu, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 16, at 2:00am at the said address.
Idowu said that the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s 14-year-old sister, who was living with them and assisting them in looking after their little baby whenever his wife was not at home.
He said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The case was adjourned until June 25 for mention.
