Iho was jailed alongside a former SUBEB official, Donald Anageende, who bagged seven years’ imprisonment.
The court handed down the verdict last Thursday. The Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Adam Onum, who presided over the case, said the prosecution proved its allegations of embezzlement and bribery against the convicts beyond reasonable doubt.
Justice Onum said from the evidence before the court Iho was guilty of criminal conspiracy and embezzlement of the sum of N91.5m meant for the training of teachers in the state.
He was also found guilty of taking a bribe of N14.9m from a contractor, Brown Sugar Global Resources Limited.
Justice Onum said the sentence was without an option of fine.
