The convener of the South-East G23, High Chief Johnbosco Onunkwo, and a governorship aspirant of the APC in the 2017 Anambra State, spoke in Port Harcourt, weekend, during the inauguration of the body in Rivers State.
Onunkwo stated that the decision because of numerous development project by the Buhari-led FG in the South-East, despite that the region did not give total support to the present administration in 2015.
He said: We are a group of young professionals committed to the re-election of President Buhari within South-East region.
“We have as a body painstakingly summarized the political realities confronting the South-East region with an understanding that Ndi Igbo will not repeat the mistake of 2015, where we neglected the broad-based politics that brought in the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for regional and ethnic sympathies which has cost the region a lot politically.
“Buhari, who has risen as a statement to accommodate all Nigerians irrespective of where that region stood in the last general elections.” Onunkwo claimed that Buhari is committed to fighting insecurity and ensure development of all parts of the nation, calling for his reelection in 2019.
