Kebbi Court Remands 14 Nude Dancers

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State, presided over by Halima Abubakar, has remanded 14 dancers in prison for dancing n-kedly with girls.

The dancers were charged to court for criminal conspiracy, mischief causing assault, public nuisance, causing hurt and grievances contrary to sections 97, 183, 327, 266 and 246 of the Penal Code.

The accused persons, according to the prosecutor, Yakub Goge, were caught by men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Kebbi State chapter under a bridge with generators and musical gadgets.

They were alleged to be taking substances suspected to be hard drugs and dancing n-kedly with young girls.


The prosecutor informed the court that the accused persons, comprising nine boys and five girls, on sighting the vigilantes, attacked them with cutlasses, damaged their patrol vehicles and wounded few of them who were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

He told the court that the accused persons used maximum force on Hashim Rabiu and Adamu Saidu, who sustained serious injuries.

The magistrate, Abubakar, in her ruling ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison, after which he adjourned the case for hearing.
