Abimbola 'Abel' Osundairo, 25, became a Chicago Golden Gloves champion with a technical knockout Friday night at a stadium in the Chicago suburb of Cicero, according to the Chicago Tribune.
His brother, Olabinjo 'Ola' Osundairo, 27, also attended the fight along with their lawyer Gloria Schmidt.
Osundairo won the senior novice division at the 178-pound limit over John Broderick. The tournament is broken down into subdivisions by fighter weights, ages and experience levels.
He ended up fighting in the division for boxers between the ages of 21 and 35 with less fight experience.
'Tonight was all about his win; he didn't want to discuss anything else,' tweeted journalist Stephanie Wash who spoke to Abel after the fight.
