She's toned down her formerly outrageous outfits in recent years as she leaned into reinterpreting jazz standards and starred in the blockbuster remake A Star Is Born.

But Lady Gaga returned to her high fashion beginnings on Sunday as she headed to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's pre-Met Gala party.

The 33-year-old musician and actress had all eyes on her in a hypnotizing black and white striped dress.

The 5ft1in iconoclast looked a bit like an invert spinning top, with her wide, round dress hovering over her legs.


The outfit, made out a sheer material, was covered in ruffles and featured layers of fabric with horizontal black and white stripes.
