Paul Gray of 1980s Australian pop group Wa Wa Nee has died at the age of 54. The singer, who shot to fame with his band thanks to a string of hits including Stimulation and I Could Make You Love Me, had battled a rare form of bone marrow cancer called myeloma.
He was diagnosed with the disease four years ago and never managed to beat it. Paul became a music director after Wa Wa Nee broke up in 1989 and worked with a number of musicals and tribute bands.
Human Nature, who he directed in his later years, confirmed the sad news in a statement.
