Kylie Minogue has announced she and her family have donated $500,000 in the wake of the bushfires currently ravaging Australia.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 51-year-old Aussie singer said the money was for 'the immediate firefighting efforts' and 'ongoing support'.

She also provided a series of links for her followers to donate too, referring them to the Australian Red Cross, NSW Rural Fire Service, Country Fire Authority, SA Country Fire Service and WIRES Wildlife Rescue.

'Big or small, from near or far, any support will help those affected by the devastating bushfires,' she urged her fans.

Sharing a photo of herself standing in the Australian countryside, Kylie said she has been left distraught by the fires sweeping her homeland.

'Last year I had the incredible opportunity of visiting some of the many beautiful places in my homeland for the first time,' she wrote on Instagram.

'Returning home to such devastation throughout much of the country is heartbreaking.'

Kylie said she and her family, including sister Dannii Minogue, 48, had donated money to help those effected by the unprecedented fires.

'As a family, we've donated $500,000 towards the immediate firefighting efforts and the ongoing support which will be required,' she continued, before signing off, 'With love, The Minogue Family.'
